When you say thank you to a friend, to a spouse, to a client, to a customer, or to a checkout clerk and really mean it… they know it. I don’t know why that is, but something happens inside of both the speaker and the hearer when the words “thank you” come from a place of genuine gratitude.
More likely than not, you can think of a time when your expression or omission of gratitude toward another person impacted the flow of events in your life. Things might be completely different now whether or not you chose to express gratitude when you were given a chance.
While entitlement repels everything around it until it finally implodes, gratitude attracts and expands until there is little to no room left for anything else. Because there is so very much to be grateful for. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this email, I mean it.
